I used a DVD+R which is usually the one that works in dvd players. I had DVD players that couldnt play DVD-R but the DVD+R worked like a real DVD.

It won't work if you simply burn MP3 files into DVD. You have to make it an "Audio DVD".
TryAudio DVD Creator (about 40 bulks). I've burned hundreds of MP3 music into a single DVD. It works perfect for me and looks likeI gotanother MusicServer on my 07 Outlander.

Hope it helps.

I dont see what the problem could be, a dvd disk is the same as a cd disk. What you are looking for is the content put on it.
and in that area, MP3 is MP3 regardless of what disk type its on.

Still doesnt work for me. I put in a DVD-R and DVD+R and burned a music mp3 disc. Nothing I do works in my outie. A regular CD with mp3s worked just fine.

Yup. Audio DVDs seem to work fine (I used a DVD+RW). Thanks for the tip.

And a DVD disk is NOT the same as a CD disk. However, in theory, anything you can copyto a CD should also work if you copy it to a DVD (e.g. MP3 files). This does not seem to be the case, however, with the music system in the Outlander... It looks like it determines which software to use (MP3 player or DVD player) based on what format is inserted (it would be interesting to know if a DVD burned to a CD (compressed, of course) will play properly).
