I am ecstatic the service worker said it was about $1600 worth of parts and labor that was covered by warranty. I am thankful for the quality of Mitsubishi's warranty I feel like I dodged a bullet

Awesome! So the dealership had really replaced your catalytic converter, resonator, exhaust pipe, muffler and tail pipe?? (that's about 3/4 of the system)....but was it only your rusted muffler causing the sounds originally?

Is the warranty of 15,000 miles or 5 years of which come first to qualify?

are you still gonna change to the muffler you bought from Amazon?

This warranty was for Emission components from the vehicle being a PZEV. The Mitsubishi Dealership said it was covered for up to 150,000 miles( I do not remember how many years think 6 or 7). Yes it is 3/4 of the exhaust system starting at the catalytic converter to the end of the muffler. The noise was caused by holes in my catalytic converter and muffler rusted through making shaking, clacking, and rattiling noises. I no longer need the Magnaflow Muffler but can not return it since 30 days have passed. I put it up on eBay

It gives you peace of mind that Mitsubishi vehicles have excellent warranties.

The luck here is that it's a PZEV (California emissions) vehicle. But those were only sold in 6 or 7 states. The rest only have warranties to 80k miles. I'm probably looking at the big, fat $1600 job.
