Default my best highway mileage

in my quest to find the sweet spot on highway speed, i came upon this number: 11.2 kms/liter doing an average of 115kms/hr on FWD for about 630kms.

i can do 12.1 kms/liter by keeping my speed to 80kms/hr max, but i reserve this in the back country roads.

what's your sweet spot?

You're talking l/100km, correct?

My daily commute this morning (approx. 30 miles/48.28 km) i got 29.8 mpg (12.67 km/l or 7.89 l/100 km) cruising at 60 mph (96.56 kph).

I too have the 4 cyl. in my 2011 Outie.

My wife's Lancer gets 39 mpg (6 l/100 km)

I can get 29-30 US mpg on local flat highways if I keep my speed to about 60 mph (96km/h). I will let you do the mpg conversion to kms/liter

Smile MPG returns

I have a 2.0litre D-ID diesel (VW engine).
At a steady 50 mph I can get 48mpg (5.9ltr/100km).At 60 mph it drops to about 44mpg.
On a recent trip through Holland towing my 1400kg caravan with cruise set @ 50 mph (legal towing limit over there) I obtained a very pleasing 31.05mpg (9.1ltr/100km)...Granted Holland is very flat. With diesel over here now costing approx £6.45 a gallon it pays to have a light right foot!
