Need help with 02 sensor removal

Hi i need help my wifes 09 outlander has a crack in the pipe right behind the cat ( the one under the vehicle in the straight part of the exhaust ) Im going to try and have a friend weld the crack but may need to remove this part of the exhaust it the part thats help on my the two bolts off the manifold and the two at the muffler. Theres two sensors in this part and the wires go up into the body how to you take the sensors out and where do they do once in the body ? If anyone else has fixed something similar how did you do it ? this new part is 500 and i would really like to fix it not have to buy the new part but will do what i got to

depending on where the crack is....tin can and metal hose clamps you tighten with a wrench....just gotta keep the gases where they belong.

Take car to Midas (or google for local mom n pop muffler shop) and have them cut out and weld in a new section + flange. Should not be that expensive.


You can borrow free tools to remove the O2 sensor from places like autozone. it is nothing more than a socket with a cut out for the wiring to pass-thru. Sounds like the crack is after the CAT so this would be the downstream O2, which is typically narrow-band for emissions.
