New Outlander Impressions

You guys and your MPG! I have no idea how those figures compare - but in my first few weeks with my new Outie, I got as low as 8 litres/100km for freeway driving, and general city driving I'm getting around 12 litres/100km. All up not too bad - I traded up from a 2001 TJ Magna Sports which chewed about 14 litres/100km on average in day to day driving.

Which engine do you have in yours. In Canada (metric system) the 3.0L V6 is rated City/Hwy 8.5/12.2 L/100km and it's pretty close to the real world in my experience. Most of the times I average 10.5-11.5 L/100km, depending on the driving pattern. I did better and I did worst.Your numbers are fairly good, but if you have the 2.4L it shows that the V6 is worth the money.
So sorry for the long delay and thanks for the replies!
1 month in and I'm steady at 23MPG in mixed driving using mid grade fuel. While I was away, we took the Outlander on it's first road trip and it was great! I did notice that the center arm rest power plug was 'always on' but that's a good thing because my daughter can continue to watch her Elmo DVDs while we made fuel stops.
I have noticed that in the city, if I bump the tranny to 5 gear, the fuel economy gauge moves towards the right. This is a good thing because I'm not 'lugging' the engine and maybe that's why my mpg is where it's at. Don't get me wrong, I think Mitsu did a good job mapping the tranny shift points, but sometimes I think it needs to hold out 4th or 5th gear alittle longer before going into the over-overdrive
