Reviving this thread!

In regards to the fumoto valve mentioned, can anyone tell me if the adapter is required for a 2010 Outlander 3.0l V6 AWD?

Per their website, it just says "may" require:

sorry to re-post but can some one advise me on what Engine Oil viscosity will be best for my Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 MIVEC 4B12 Engine. The average temperature range from 5 degree Celsius in winter to 40 degree Celsius in summer. The car is Japanese Import operated in Namibia

2008 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER 3.0L 6-cyl Engine Code [X] 6B31
5 Quarts of SAE 5W-20 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil (ALMQT)
1 Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter (EA15K13)

I change it once every 25,000 miles with AMSOIL. Saving 6% on fuel cost as well.

Will it not be an overkill to the engine in a place where temperatures can get up to 40 degree celsius (104 F)

Here in central USA, I see temps of 0F to 105F. 5w20 is what is recommended and what I've used since I had it in 2009. Down south is gets hotter and that is still what is recommended.

You change your oil every 25,000 miles? That sounds awful for your engine...

What he said. 5W-20 is what's recommended and will do just fine in most temps.

I'll admit AMSOIL is some quality oil, but its 25,000 or 1 year claim has got to be bogus. You've also got to replace your oil filter at least every 7500 miles if you're really going to extend your OCI that long...
