Default Outlander 07 SRS-ABG CAN timeout

Hello,

I have a 2007 Outlander XLS that won`t start, don't even crank. The car had flood damage

No check engine or service engine light are on, all the components seems to me working fine: remote, keyless entry, dash, navigation, radio, power locks, windows, fans, phone, turn signals, low beam, wiper...

When I try to start the car I can hear the fuel pump working but the car won`t even crank and the navigation system reboots itself.

Starter works, battery new, all fuses are good. If I connect the starter relay leg 3 to 4 for the starter work but the engine wont start. I got sparks at the plugs and gas as well.

When I scan for codes I got 3 things:
air condition: SRS-ABG CAN timeout
Meter:SRS-ABG CAN timeout
ETACS:SRS-ABG CAN timeout

Is this ok to buy and use?

Thanks!

There are around $400 versions of MUT III.

But what makes you think it will solve your issue?

Hi Vadimus,

I have never owned or worked on Mitsubishi before, but I taught one of the main feature on a MUT III is advance diagnostic. I don't really know what's wrong if this is a CAN Bus issue or SRS-ECU issue or the ETACS-ECU issue.

I also wonder if these errors got anything to do with the fact that the starter won`t get a signal from the ECU to start, because it does not. Once I do manually, the starter starts, got spark at the plugs, got fuel at the plugs and, I can hear the fuel pump working but nothing happens the engine itself wont even try to start.

I would say non-working SRS won't prevent engine from starting.
Check all fuses, relays, connectors.

I checked all the fuses some of the relays and all the connectors.

I think I might flood the engine with gas already, plus I never checked if it gets any air or not. Once I get home from work I will check these.

Thank you for your help!

Engine flooded with gas won't start yet it would still crank.
Is the starter kicking in?

I figured out some part of it. Looks like the throttle was stuck, I opened up with a screwdriver and after that the engine started up fine and was running nicely at least for a good 5-7 second when something started smoking. I shut the engine off to see what happened and the belt started burning, looks like something is stuck or seized up

I will start from here tomorrow and find out what's caused it.

Thank you for your help!

Looks like The Power s. pump belt tensioner get stacked or broke and the belt started cutting in, in seconds. I worked on other cars before but never seen a plastic tensioner before. Stopped by at the dealership to get the belt and the tensioner asap, got a $40 discount and it was still $150 Next time I will just get it online.
