can someone please advice me on this issue.
the car dosnt go beyond 3rd gear in drive/manual mode.

the display shows it going upto 6 in manual mode, but its stuck in 3rd only.
in both the modes the rpm needle drops correctly when it reaches its correct ratio, after third gear the rpm just keeps rising and the gears dont change.

48000k kms done. the software scanner does not show any issues. oil level is correct and checked.

 

I'm assuming you mean 48,000 KMs not 48,000,000 KMs.

Is this a new problem or has it always been happening?

Unfortunately I don't know what's wrong but fortunately the tranny on your 2010 should still be covered under the powertrain warranty so I would just take it to a dealer.
