Outlander 2009 check engine lights and limp mode
#11
Thank you
After doing more tests we found out that after taking off, and cleaning the throttle body and putting it back together threw more codes which caused the computer to malfunction. So to our conclusion and to stop the problem, after taking off the throttle body to clean it, you must take the battery cable off so it doesn't throw any more "new" codes to the computer. After putting it back together and it still going into limp mode you must disconnect the battery again, and replaced the throttle body. Once this is done you put the battery cable back on and this should solve your problem. If this doesn't work then get back to me, thanks.

do you have a hose some where that is disconnected and/or cracked at the connection, could be some unmetered air getting into the system and messing with the sensors, just a thought and something easy to check by following every tube to it's connection and wiggling

Grateful
Thank you dear bindz... Am grateful beyond words can say. I had checked for vacuum leaks but couldn't locate any, used carb cleaner spray also to locate any leak by observing a change in rpm but to no avail. I shall check up nicely again and get back. Thanks a tonne

you know something that happened to me on another car, some vacuum hose that was replaced was too thin and it would collapse at high vacuum essentially blocking the flow, but at idle it looked fine, the smog guy found it during inspection and showed me, we put a heavier hose and voila no more problem
