OUTLANDER: Driver's electric seat rocking
Hi all, I just bought a 2018 Outlander and have noticed a 2-3cm movement/rocking on the bottom & seat back when accelerating/braking. I've seen some old threads http://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mit...at-move-37750/ and http://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mit...problem-29684/ stating the exact same problem with the electric seats. Top of the travel & bottom gets rid of the slack, but anywhere in the middle it's loose. I'm quite surprised that Mitsu has not fixed this problem, as I see it's a known issue for 10+ years now?
I've been to the dealer and they told me this is normal for all Outlander electric seats. This, in my opinion is not acceptable. Has anyone else got any resolve? I'm about to call corporate about this, but even after that, what could they really do? Replace to a new one with the same problem?
hmmmm....

I’m fine with it, I’m sure there is some reason for it. Does feel like something’s not right at first.

I took my MY19 to the Dealer and they told me it was within tolerance, I contacted Mitsubishi customer service and the Dealer then ordered parts, they fitted parts yesterday and still the same! I believe its a safety issue as when I accelerate the seat belt sometime locks me in the rocking back position. Will be contacting the Dealer again today!!!

Greetings. Here is my experience dealing with my 2018 Outlander electric driver side seat movement. This is a nightmare to deal with, and I am sorry you are experiencing it now. After 4 repair attempts, 3 actual rail/seat replacements, and 5 rental cars later, I am still experiencing this movement in the driver's side seat. It was concluded that there were "no issues found with the seat after the 3rd attempt." Weeks later however, I received contrasting documentation stating that the seat was in fact defective after visiting a different dealer. I am very glad that the second dealer actually acknowledged the issue and made the best repair attempt. After this last repair, the seat movement felt minimal at best for a few weeks. However, I'm back to square one (excessive movement). Needles to say, I pursued lemon law consultation and am dealing with that. I hope that you get your issue resolved. Don't rule out the lemon law. These are just my experiences dealing with this problem within the first year of ownership.
