Outlander GT 2014 speedometer bad reading
Took delivery of our new Outlander two weeks ago. Noticed the same thing on a recent road trip. Will be going back to my dealer with this to see what their reaction/comments will be! Otherwise, we love our new GT.

A bigger concern would be if the odometer is correct? Warranty, service, fuel performance, etc. is all based on the odometer.[/QUOTE]
I have the same concern. My error is closer to 10 kph at 100km/h (2014 AWC, 2.4L). It's not much different at lower speeds so the error is at least 10% on average. So, theoretically if the odometer reflects what's shown on the speedo my 44,000kms are really about 40,000. Having to service the vehicle every 6,000kms is bad enough but in reality I might be doing this at every 5,400 or so. The speedo issue and frequency/cost of service are my only two complaints with what is an excellent vehicle. My 2014 Mazda has service intervals of 8,000kms and its speedo seems to be spot on.

I haven't checked myself but someone on the first page said the CAN bus reports the correct speed so I imagine the odometer would use that and the spedo is just setup to adjust the speed a bit... I have heard this is pretty common practice too.
Check out this link it explains everything: Why are speedos inaccurate?

Changing the wheel size would affect the odometer as well as the speedometer, I think etacs let's you enter your new wheel size if you are super concerned but I wouldn't worry too much about a small difference like that...I never have.
lol Mitsubishi sent me a letter blaming my tires and wheels but i still have the originals. Can’t make this stuff up. They don’t want to fix this issue
