When Mitsu changed the air box design (2012 I think) it became a lot more difficult to change the Air Filter.....my 2009 Lancer was a breeze..just open the 2 silver clips and pull it apart..done.

AFAIK...you have to pop the little grommets (sp?) out of the intake and disconnect the electrical connector..Its in the manual...

The worst part is getting the air box to line up properly on the bottom after you get it apart and install the new filter...its a bitch ...at least for me... perhaps other members could chime in with a trick or technique?

I just let the Dealer do mine...2015 Outlander SE

best of luck..

Thanks,
So you don't remove the air intake from the front ( above radiator) of the car?
Because I'm having issue with two plastic clips? Should I use some strength or use some trick?

Best,
B
