Outlander reviews and insight
Hinall newbie here..
Long time 7+ years vr4 legnum enthusiast now looking at getting a new family suv crossroad vehicle .
We are considering the ASX or the Outlander with outlander in favor so far..
If I may ask for some insight info and so forth to help I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm based in New Zealand so JDM spec is my market .
I know there's 3 models ,the LS XLS and the VRX ,now I'm wondering could I buy the VRX and turn it into a XLS Seven Seater later if I wish or are the chassis different?
I'm structural minded as iv done some outrageous mods in my time with a new being a Legnum Utility that's due for completion of structural mods end March 2012 so I can handle some engineering and fab work.
But I'm very strict in a factory look and finish so I ideally would like to know if it is possible to turn it into a 7 Seater or not?
There'll be other questions I need answers to if your willing to answer but 1step at a time for me for now

I'm in the US, but if I was thinking about changing a 5 seat Outlander model into a 7 model the first thing I would look at is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of both models. If the GVWR is higher in the 7 seat model (which I suspect it is), that would tell me right there are chassis, and or suspension differences.

So we are thinking of importing a ore facelift JDM outlander either a base LS or a VRX but if base then also importing a damaged VRX Facelift and then transferring all the new bits over incl interior,electrics etc,
Can anyone tell me from experience wether the v6 is any good on gas compared to the 2.4mivec?
Just unsure on motors and gearboxes ATM.
The mivec cvt is awfully noisy due to the cvt revving the motor but wife not moaning lol
