Outlander - whining noise (Gearbox?)
Hi All,
I have a 2011 Outlander (2.4i petrol automatic) with 120k kms.
Over the last month, I have noticed a whining noise coming from (presumably) the gearbox when under heavy load - not a towing load, but when accelerating hard on a steep incline, on the motorway (highway). Under normal operating conditions everything is fine, I really have to push the car to reproduce the noise. It has progressed almost imperceptably over the timeframe, and while it isn't loud, it is high pitched and a concern.... has anyone got any ideas what this could be?
I've attached a 50 second MP3 file, you'll hear the noise around 30 seconds into it.
My next step is to take it to Mitsubishi, but I'd like to have some idea what it could be before I do so.
