Default Paint Problem

Hi:

Has anyone noticed the paint being worn away by the gas cap cover…

I have a white line forming on the right side of the cars body where the gas cap cover

meets the cars body…..

Nothing thats visible from the outside, but here is what I did notice. I opened the gas cap cover and the paint on the inside of the opening's right side looks a little thin. It almost looks like they used a paint brush (rather than spray) to put it on and you can see what looks like brush marks.

I thought it was normal to have thinner layers of paint around the gas cap since that's an area which is usually covered by the cover. Then again it could be that some gas gets splashed around and corrodes away the paint...

One of the nice little features of the outtie is the lip thats underneath the opening where you put gas in to catch anyspills they may leak out from the hose when removing it.

That little plastic lip is only functional if you have the time to ... wait around for the gas hose to clear a little bit before pulling it out of the gas tank. If you just do it at normal speed there will always be some that spills around... maybe a bigger lip would have been better.

Does anybody have the premium alloy gas cap ?
