Default Rear Passenger Door Won't Open (RHD Model)

Hello Forum!

I am hoping someone can advise as I can't find a problem like this mentioned anywhere with an Outlander... I have a 2008 model which has developed a problem with the rear drivers-side door (RHD version): Basically I cannot open it from the outside or the inside! The internal lock switch feels completely limp and is not activated by the central locking.

I've managed to get the door skin away from the door internally and all the cables are attached and seem intact - they have not broken.

I suspect that this could be a break in the lock mechanism / solenoid but without being able to get the door open, I don't stand a chance of being able to get a better look or make a repair.

Has anyone had any experience of this at all and have had it repaired? is there any other method of opening the door?

Any advice would be welcomed!

Im having the same problem on my passenger´s door (RHD) Outlander 2007´

Could be the wires sending a "closed" signal to the lock?
