Default seat material

Just got a 2012 OS a few weeks ago after years of being a PT Cruiser owner. I'm still getting used to the car but liking it more every day. Anyway, due to carelessness on my part two holes showed up on the driver's seat. A car upholsterer suggested I go to the dealer to order a replacement seat cover. I figured it could be pricey, in the $200 range, but when I was quoted $500 I nearly passed out. As I stumbled out the door I literally bumped into a guy who was on the lot fixing damaged upholstery for the dealer. We got talking and before you knew it he fixed me up for $40. His repair is really pretty good although he told me it's not likely to be long lasting. Hence, my question. Is there some place I can get the original material for the seats without taking out a second mortgaged on my home? I know, I could just get other seat covers but I prefer to have the factory ones. Any help on this would be appreciated.
