silly engine question
Is there a way to verify if i have a 4B12 engine? I have not looked inside my car/manual. But just wondering if anyone would have a straight answer as to where i could find which model engine i have.
Thanks in advance !

The vin will show what engine was installed at the factory on it's birthday.
I beleive it's the 8th digit but I'm probably wrong.
Then you have to go to the Mitsu we site and find out how to decipher the vin. Or call your friendly local Mitsu service and see if the idiots there can help. Or want to.

in '09 here in the states, the ES and SE got the 2.4L while the XLS got the 3.0L.
Mitsubishi Outlander - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
the 2.4L was the 4B12. the 3.0L was 6B31.
