Default Simple way to add HID and not worry about DTRL

well finally got my DTRL on point and HID working. After pouring over a wiring diagram i figured i just need a 12v power source to turn on the ballasts, so i tapped a 9006 plug off the running lights, and BOOM now i have HID, turns on with the running lights, no more DTRL. works great! no flicker no issues at all... i am now using another 9006 plug to run a relay set up, off the stock headlight plugs so i can run aftermarket LED 50/50 running lights in the lower section of the grill (that and my LED 50/50 grill lights are not done) but here is a few shots of soldering in the new plugs

blue is your possitve, black is your negitive... just have to strip them back a bit to expose the wires

from there just solder in your new lines, and shrink wrap it all up

all done

clean and simple...

Hmmm... being that close to the battery I can't really condone putting extra draw on the factory wiring vs. a relay and dedicated power wire. It looks like you did a nice, clean job though, so perhaps you're familiar with wiring. As long as you're not over-drawing anything I'll say good job for now.

I have checked the pull on it, 12v clean. no issues at all. you have to remember that is there to power a 2825 bulb, utra small fillament bulb, hell 6v will light that bulb up. Makes this the perfect place to tap in. I was at the dealer yesterday for a free oil change they sent me, the techs where laughing... i guess this is how they always set up HID kits on their own cars... ill update the post with pics of my LED running light set up. when all is said and done...

Voltage isnt the issue with small wires. You can run 1000V through a 14 gauge wire if the amperage is low enough.

Pull above about 15amps even on 1v and youll fry the same wire.
