Default Spare tyre carrier

We know that the Outlander comes with a “doughnut” spare tire hidden under the third row of seats. By experience I may say that a tyre fault usually comes at unexpected times, e.g. raining, muddy, ice, and snow, etc. The position of the spare tyre implies the driver must go under the rear cargo area to get the spare tyre out to replace the faulty tyre. This is not a nice thing to do, even if you are a member of the AA or AAA.

The included photo shows a tyre carrier with a swinging arm that fit in 2 x 2” tow hitch. I would like members of this forum to give some ideas of some business (e.g. welding/metal fabrication) that may take the task to do/construct something similar to the photo.

Default Outlander tyre carrier

I am going to Sochi in my Outlander and this photo show my tyre carrier constructed by a metal fabricator just for a box of beer.

Car is on ramps. I have finished installing extra suspension springs for the journey to Russia

If your primary idea is to have a full-size spare instead of a donut please note that on some markets (including Russia) they have a full-size spare.
I guess that would be much better option.

I know for sure they have spare tire cover. Let me know I will check what else is different.

cool spare tire cover. Although the rear tire holder has the gas tank holders. Not for me, but still pretty cool custom job.
