Default Spare wheel

Just been doing some maintenance on the Outlander and noticed my space saver spare is fu-barred. So question is can I put a full size wheel in the carrier? If not I need to source a replacement space saver. I believe the Citroen Crosser uses the same wheel?

Not sure which Outlander you have, but my space saver carrier for my '16 GT doesn't have a whole lot of room. I'm pretty certain it can't fit a full size in there.

That's what I thought. Better hunt a replacement down then.

Thanks

I have a UK C-Crosser and the space saver on mine was fubared also. In fact on closer inspection, I seriously think it might have collapsed as soon as it turned

I got a replacement from the auction site in much better state and paint treated it for protection. My road wheels and tyres are 225/55/18 and I have tried to see if one of these rims will go in the carrier. Even with carrier modification (to allow for extra 70mm thickness of road tyre over space saver) I concluded it would not fit because the wheel would hang too far below the rear bumper skirt (and looked ugly as ...). You can see for yourself without the struggle of using a road rim, by measuring 70mm below the edge of the space saver to see how low it hangs. I have the 7 seater by the way so it may be different for a 5 seater model as the extra rear seats hide in the floor above the spare.

Thanks for the replies gents.

Took the tyre off and gave it a good rub down. Lathered it with a nice thick coat of Hammerite and it looks good. Best thing is we resealed the tyre and it holds pressure just fine.
