Spring like sound
Hello folks!Greetings from Canada! I recently became the proud owner of a beautiful 2017 Outlander GT with only 85,000 km on it. When I received the car from the dealer, I had it fully inspected, replaced all fluids, and took care of a loose stabilizer.
A few days ago, I noticed a spring-like sound when I put it in Drive and start turning the wheel. The sound doesn’t happen every time, and it’s not present while driving—no clicking or odd sounds over bumps. The mechanic checked it out and said the underside looks nearly new. They suggested it might be due to dry bushings, but the sound isn’t a squeak. It’s more like a compressed spring being released. I’ve tested it with and without the handbrake, but the sound remains the same.(The springs are in a good shape).
Any ideas on what might be causing this? Anyone with a similar experience?
Thanks!

For 15 years I looked for a reason the front suspension made a thunk noise when really extended, like going into a steep driveway or over a rain gutter in the street. I took it back to the dealer twice when it was new and they couldn't find anything. Fast forward a few years and I went to automotive school, nobody could find anything wrong with the components. I did all my work from then on, replaced anything that looked slightly worn. It always made that noise, not sure if it's the same one you're talking about but some cars just make strange noises when all the proper parts are in the proper place with the proper torque. Cheers
