Steering Wheel Bluetooth Controls Changed
I bought a 2011 Outlander Sport a few months ago, and have been using my android phone to listen to music while driving via bluetooth since the day I got it. It has worked fine, and all of the controls on the steering wheel have worked properly.
Today, when I pressed the "next" button on the steering wheel to change to the next song, nothing happened. Then, when I hit the "previous" button, it paused the music. Pressing it again did not unpause it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have been using DoubleTwist as the primary music player. I thought maybe it was just a recent update to that player that changed something. Trying it with the stock music player and also Pandora's app I get the exact same behavior. I don't think it's the phone acting goofy. I don't have any other bluetooth devices to pair it with, so I can't confirm this theory.
When I switch to the CD player, the next and previous buttons on the steering wheel work fine.

Until your last sentence, I was ready to suggest that you have the dealer check the clock spring, but maybe the bluetooth module is not working properly.
I have the 2011 Outlander (not Sport) and have had no problems with it.
I take that back. I had to turn off the bluetooth on my Droid and turn it back on once becuse the Outlander could not recognise it.
Maybe do the same to yours. Turn off the bluetooth, turn off the phone.
Wait a bit then turn the phone back on, turn the bluetooth and see what happens.

I use the bluetooth to stream music from my iPhone4. i have not had any problems, although recently i noticed it was taking extra long to sync. when i started using it, it would sync by the time i pulled out of the driveway. recently it would take about4 blocks from my house to start playing, and not until i unlocked my phone. I restarted my phone last night, and it works a lot better now. i guess every so often it needs to be reset.
