Download the service manual from this thread

https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mi...ownload-20796/

Open the first pdf in the folder

click volume 3
click chassis electrical 54
click chassis electrical 54 (again)
scroll down and click STEERING WHEEL AUDIO REMOTE CONTROL SWITCH*. 54A-561
go to page 125 and start reading. it has a step by step guide to troubleshoot any problem.

OR in windows search the whole folder for GR00000100C-54A.pdf
then go to page 125

Question

I am having this problem on my 2010 Outlander XLS.

The Cruise control works fine, but the Mode, Track, Volume, and Voice control buttons do not work. This happened after a battery replacement.

I'm assuming they just need reprogramming?

Unfortunately the links posted to the previously mentioned thread are down.

Any advice?

Question

Update for me - the controls work when the wheel is turned to a certain position.

Is this a clear indicating that the clock spring needs replacement?

If so, do I need a steering wheel puller toll to remove or is it done pretty easily? (I'm aware the battery needs to be disconnected and ground myself when working near the airbag)

My dealership wants ~$180 to replace the clock spring.

I found the part on ebay for $20-30.

Do you need a steeringwheel puller to install?
