Tell them to eat Sh*T... I would call Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. @ 1-888-MITSU2008 and complain!
This is insane how the dealers are treating you this way.

Highway robbery to me... ;P

Good luck!

This is from the warranty information:

The following factory installed items are covered under
warranty for 3 years or 36,000 odometer miles, whichever
occurs first.
• Audio optic related parts on audio and navigation parts

Ouch? $350 just to check??? Ridiculous!
While your car was in the shop I was calling dealers around and I am amazed by horrible customer service from mitsu... for 7500 Service some of them wanted outrageous $90 (oil change & tire rotation). I asked about loaner car and they said they only give for warranty repair related to safety equipment! When I had Acura they had no problem with fixing or looking at "little" things and giving loaner cars, so this is quite a shock. When I was buying a car that was one of the things I looked at that the dealer told me about giving free loaner cars.

Btw, I don't have rear entertainment system, but again I have the same issue with reception and whinning noise from MP3 in cig lighter.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I had this problem on my early production 08 LS (yes, an 08 not 07)...I guess the previous owner was so fed up with it (did 0 TSBs on it), that he decided to sell for a bargain.
Anyways, the radio reception was so horrible that a station I live nearby would barely work any further than a few km's from it.
I went to Vancouver Mitsubishi and told them the problem, and the service advisor said right away that it is a very well known issue and that he will order the part right away. Also did the rear glass TSBs for absolutely no charge at all even though my window never fell out (was struggling to go up, though). They forgot to do the heater performance ECU update, but said to come in any time to fix it. I was very satisfied with the way they handled everything at the end. So you shouldn't be charged for this at all! I'm guessing they were so nice because I didn't want a loaner since I lived nearby.

I called Mitsubishi in Vancouver and they basically confirmed what you said above. There is no TSB and all they did was to replace the whole system. In my case I have navi and the tech said the didn't have ANY with navi to report similar issue. What he suggested was to drive around my local dealership to find weak spot for reception and let the tech know to go to that area.

Yeah, I didn't say there was a TSB...but the person said it was a common issue and that the only solution was to replace the whole radio.

So your radio with NAV has horrible reception and nobody wants to fix it? Are you in or around Vancouver?
Have you tried doing what the tech said that? Did they still refuse to fix it?

Don't get me wrong, radio reception is not good at places like Burnaby Mtn even with the replacement. Compare that to perfect reception on my Lexus (which has around 5-6 antennas around the whole car for FM!). But it is decent and good enough for most purposes. I just switch it to MP3 CDs when it starts getting bad...

Did they tell you what part they changed as I now have this issue with my 07?
