Yeah Pferrar, you maybe don't need a block heater when it's very cold but it does help to get your engine lubricated right away on a cold start...

I would like to know by the way what's the type of block heater the dealership installed and if any of you guys have installed an aftermarket one??? If it's a type going on a frost plug hole, what is the size of it (size of the hole)?? Thank you for reply!!!

From an old post I posted about my 2008 XLS which I purchased in Calgary.

Well I checked under the hood, a there it was - an engine block heater. The name on the plug is "Phillips & Temro IND." I checked them out online and found their Canadian contact info:

I bought a 93 civic hatch that came with a b16a 1st gen motor. i swapped out the block and added a b18c type r block. i need to change the alternator but i dont know if i need a 95 del so alternator or a type r alternator. can anyone help me?
