Hi all, I noticed a leak on my Outlander, small at first and was only topping up occasionally but about 8 months later it was getting more frequent so decided to investigate further. Found out it was the coolant flange which was leaking and when I took it off it looked like somebody done a bodge job of putting some sort of sealant around the edge of the whole flange. When I managed to get the part off, the inner part of plastic which keeps the gasket in place had broken away meaning coolant could seep out hence the sealant bodge.

VAG part number is 038121132G or Mitsubishi UK part MN980149.

Probably not a common issue but if anybody has found a leaking coolant system and liquid gathering on the gearbox housing then I can maybe help out a little.

Was a really awkward part to change but I did it, didn't help that I put it all back together after sunset with just a house lamp to help with lighting lol.
