That is sweet news, certainlly means that more performance driven customers will be atracted to the SUV, hopefully giving the aftermarket the wakeup call it needed.
That's good news indeed. I hope the option will also become available in the US and the rest of Europe, since this transmission sounds like the bom!
The advantages of manual and automatic transmission brought together. Does anyone know how expensive such a transmission will likely be?
Generally speaking, could Twin Clutch become a new standard of transmission in the future? it sure sounds like it could, if it's affordable.
I wish the 1st gen. manual transmission outlander had a faster gearbox, it shifts a little rough.

I test drove the Evo X MR with the twin clutch tranny. It felt a lot like an automatic to me. The only "cool" feature is that it downshifts when you slow down. Other than that it's not much different than our 6 speed automatic when you mash the throttle.

A Mitsubishi employee had one at a local event,I showed him my Outlander key fob and he letme take it for a spin. I dunno, every time I drive an SMG/DSG car I wish I had a clutch. But in an SUV a 6-speed automatic is fine for me.I rarely use the paddles. It's my cruiser car.
