Angry Unexpected dying battery

Our 4 1/2 year old 2011 Outlander Sport SE had only 23K miles 18 months ago, and the battery died while using the accessory mode (pairing a phone) for about 15 minutes. Weird buzzes, lights and clicks. The dealer said it was just a battery gone bad and replaced it out of warranty.
Using the accessory mode AGAIN today(pairing a phone) only 18 months and 9,000 miles later, the battery dies again. Weird buzzes, lights and clicks. Sound familiar?
