Talked to Mitsu - they now say update will be out "sometime in the summer" - could be as late as Aug. It will not be produced by NAVTEQ but by Mitsu - probably accounts for the delay as they probably do not see this as a big money-maker.

Its produced by Mitsu because of the MMCS and all of its technical glory. NAVTEQ produces map updates for DVD based units which just replace the DVD's that the owner already has. Mitsu yes gets the maps from NAVTEQ but then has to produce a disc that can correctly update our MMCS hard drive. Remember, they are just updating the maps, not replacing them. That way it will fit on 1 disc instead of having 4-5 discs to replace everything. And since we all know how locked up the MMCS really is (ex installing apps or modifing) the disc can ONLY come from Mitsu.

Im just as mad as everyone else with the delay. I have a '07 with 2005 maps. I just doubt Mitsu has very many people working on this, which is the main problem...

I have a 2008 Endeavor with the navigation system. My Florida dvd was either lost
or stolen but I still have the other two dvd's. Should I wait to buy a new dvd when
the updated ones are released (if ever) or do I buy, If I can find one, a 2005 dvd? The reason I'm asking is because I'm not sure how we receive the updates. Is it a
whole new dvd or do I have to transfer the info onto the 2005 dvd some how?

Endeavor updates are different than Outlander/Lancer. You dont have a MMCS

I actually like the nav - very user friendly. I do wish the distance to go and time displays were a little larger. I like the MMCS setup too. I have not noticed too many "outdated" things on my nav. I have not found any navs, aftermarket included, that do a good job of listing places, particularly retail.
