What brake pads...?
What brand do you guys recommend for the front and rear pads? Should I stick with oem?
Do I need a set of new rotors if I buy different brand pads?
Thanks.

I recently replaced mine and used this recommendation from member Blck3G:
Brembo rotors + Akebono pads
Here's a link on tirerack.com to the pads:

I am very happy with their performance. I had warped front OEM rotors when I bought the car. I've also heard good things about EBC performance rotors as well.

you don't need new rotors if you change out the brake pads. if your rotors are cracked, warped, or are too thin, then you need new ones. I've always gone to a parts house for my brake pads. They'll usually have base line, plus grade, then premium grade....I've usually gotten the plus grade and have never had brake dust problems. When you get them from the parts house...they'll fit. No need to buy a new rotor or drum unless you need it.
Any brand of rotors and pads are good. It really depends on your BUDGET.
Hey if you have the money buy the best brand.
I am replacing my pad and rotors on my 2008 Mitsu Lancer it's about 50,000 miles even.
I will just have to go with Pep Boys or Auto Zone pads and rotors. Why?
my budget is limited especially with this economy. I can do the change myself but I will skip the crawling and lifting the car and pay my mechanic $85.00 buck to install them for me with my own parts.

it's just a matter of preference... I just like the slotted/drilled design that's why I got the premium rotors.....
Sorry but they are already on the car. I did go with the ones that have the holes, slots, and also the dimples to reduce brake dust. They had a gold anodized coating. EBC makes some almost exactly like them a bit cheaper. I can find a link to those with a pic. The Brembo's I had to call on to order but they look near the same. They cost me $30 more than the EBC.
