In my 16, there's a port installed lighted button in that location. It's always on with the car is running, it shows the vehicle with "sensor" like lines around it. It's for port installed parking sensors.
Meaning that after the vehicle got here from Japan, it had the parking sensors installed. This hookup may be for them.
