What's your gas milage?
Pinman have you done any mods to your car? 42mpg is heading into Prius territory which seems pretty unlikely for a heavy soft roader...
Hi Folks,
No, it is standard, got home last night and the display on the
dash (I know it's not very accurate) said 48.6mpg.
I get the car serviced at a friends garage (not a main dealer), who
uses Liqui Moly oil etc., and never had a problem.

I just bought a new Outlander, and I am only getting 350KM per tank on city, and around 400KM on Hwy.
your numbers seems right comparing to what I am getting. there is no day I regret most about buying this car
the 4cylinders has an underpowered engine, very noisy, and the car can barely move after a stop sign.

I used to get about 400 kms on full tank before I get the refill signal, but now I only get 350 kms on a full tank. I'm scratching my head to figure out why such a huge drop in fuel mileage. It's not like it was good to begin with! I recently changed my tires but the new tires are low rolling resistance tires, and supposed to improve fuel mileage. If I knew the mileage was this bad, I wouldn't have bought the outlander in the first place. And yes, the 2.4 engine is really under powered. I drive 2009 Outlander ES AWD.
