1994 Eclipse GS newbie
Hello everyone, let me start by saying I am new to the mitsubishi product. I just happened to have purchased a 1994 Eclipse GS with an alledged 117,000 miles on it. It is a 5 speed and i gave $1400.00 for it. The car is totally nasty inside but with a little TLC and a couple of trips to the junkyard I think she will clean up nicely. The first thing I need to address is a nasty exhaust leak that I am not sure yet where it originates. I am hoping it will be a gasket problem and not a cracked manifold or worse. This car also is going to need some paint work since the hood and roof paint is "toast".. Next I will have to completely redo the roof liner as it has collapsed and is torn, as well as replace a a drivers sunvisor. The other thing that I am sure will be a challenge is figuring out why the drivers door wont stay locked when using the key or locking it form the inside and then closing the door, the relay is unlocking the door by itself. It will stay locked if one locks the doors using the key or the inside lock on the passengers door and then closing the door.
Well folks I would really appreciate any timps or advice any of you good people can throw my way. I am also looking for a "gratis" download of the factory repair manua in a PDF or Word file. I also own a 1998 BMW Z-3, a 1995 Nissan 200SX SER, and a 2000 V-8 Toyota Tundra. I have been able to solve most if not all my service issues by accesing each of those other forums. [IMG]
