2008 pajero losing power

2008 pajero losing power
Hi Guys after a bit of help here, not a very mechanical person myself, but am having trouble with our Paj,
will be driving along the highway/street whatever and the car will lose power, can hold your foot flat and get nothing.
can turn car on/off still nothing let it idle for a few minutes and try to rev eventually it will kick back in and off you go. mostly worried about the dangers of it losing power if going across a cross road or over taking.
I have taken it to local mechanic, changed fuel pump filters etc.
still have problem
took to nearest dealer they fixed timing belt (recall job) had a look for other issues couldn't find anything
No warning lights come on at all while all this is happening either, its not blowing smoke. I kinda at a loss, trying to find something solid to take to the mitshi dealer again so they can focus on something.
