Evo 8. I need your advice
I finally got to run my 2005 Evo 8 at the track last night. I was disappointed with my #s. My car is stock and I was running 104octane. I ran these #s very consistantly.
Here are my best#s
60' 2.337 sec
1/8mile 9.203 sec
1/4mile 14.092 secat 100.49mph
Please tell me what you think of these times.
Do I need to be concerned about these times?
Thanks for your time!

Your launch is killing you. Thats where your getting the bad time from. Now running 104 octane doesnt mean your really gonna get much of a better time because you dont have a way to tune the car with it to make it faster.
But figure with that trap speed i would think you should be seeing around a mid 13 sec 1/4 mile i would think. So get your 60' down to about a 1.8-1.9 where you should be with the AWD and youll be alot better.

your 60' could be a little better, is it your first time on a track with any car, or just this car?
Ive seen 13's on stock evo's but running 14 flat is decent on a stock evo.. (All depends on the driver)

stop bogging off the line. your car has a factory 2 step at 5000RPMS you need to bounce the rev off of it and when the green comes you slip the clutch a little and then pull it out quick just as it grabs... do that and I bet you will run 13.5 or 13.6 easy if not better. your with perfect driving should do a 13.4 range ET
