Default Ignition Timing for 4G32 Engine

Does any body know the initial ignition timing for the 4g32 SOHC engine? I have it set for 5 BTDC but the intake vacuum is very low. Only 16" hg.

depends on your locale. Should be a veci label on firewall/bonnet/sills that'll tell you.
Either need to smog tune it or road test and tune. Up to 8btdc should be fine.

Default Thanks!

Many Thanks for the information. My location is in the Philippines and the car is a Lancer 1987, Model A174A. I am going to advance it to 8 BTDC as you advise. Hopefully this will increase the gas mileage. They still sale Super leaded gasoline so I don't have to worry about Pinging. Thanks again.

bear in mind your timing is only the initial advance. After that vacuum/sprins and weights come into play.
Things that affect it are altitude and climate.

Default Total ignition advance

What is the total ignition advance of this engine 32 degrees at 4000 rpm?
