Default Looking toget my first eclipse

Hello everyone, I'm new to sport compasts and am thinking about getting my first eclipse. Just wanted to get some feedback from poeple who know about these cars. I am looking @ a 97 GS-T that a guy down the street has up for sale it, it has a blown motor but he only wants $800 for it. I don't need another daily driver right now so I am thinkabout this as a project. Just wanted to know how difficult it would be to put an evo engine in one of these. Im sure someone on here has done and would love to see some pics. Ive done engin swaps before and I am not afraid to take on any project. Any help that you guys could offer to a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Why dont you just build the engine in the gs-t? Also what year evo engine are you talking abt?

I am thinking abut doing that also. As far as the years for the evo engines I dont know what real differences they have. Like I said I am very new to sport compacts.

I would stick with the engine already in the gs-t or search for a built 6 bolt engine. Do u have pics of the gs-t?

Dont have any pics yet I am going to go look at it today and will probably get it hime tonight. I will get pics posted of it this weekend. I dont know what all is wrong with the engine yet that is why I am looking at diffferent engine possibilities for swaps. If I get the car this weekend I will have the engine out by monday hoefully.

Well just to let you know the most common swap for 2g dsm's is doing a 6 bolt swap. If you have more questions check www.vfaq.com.
