Greetings from Southern Indiana, As I stated my 16 year old son got me here by purchasing a 93 talon with a 2.0 and 5 sp. He drove it 9 days and totaled it. (Thankfully not hurt physically) So now "we" are partners in a 94 eclipse with a blown up 1.8 with a 5 sp. I put up the money for this one and He is going to learn how to swap (easy ?) an engine. I have sent in my question to the admin for posting the how to forum. In the mean time I hate that my son had the wreck but I'm really looking forward to teaching and spending the time with him in the garage, something he has avoided until now. well enuff rambling

here is a question.... the car he wrecked, is that also a 1.8L or was a a 2.0LN\a OR the 2.0L Turbo

Swaps are fun and can be easy or hard, it will all depend on you two. I wondered the same as Emonz also.
You have the 1.8L 4G37 correct? Racerx55, went through this with his 4g37. He would be a good knowledge base for you guys.

right.so your bought the eclipse after the wrekc of the talon and want to swap the talon engine into the eclipse? where we're confused is from ur first post you said your son totaled the talon so everyone was wondering where the swap was coming from? lol. not to speak for everyone here. but...you know

 

lol after rereading my post i see were the confusion came from.. yes the talon will be the donor engine for the eclipse. the front end was not damaged in the wreck, he lost it in a 90 degree curve and found a rather large tree with the divers door. moved the floor in about 8 inches. I'm lucky he's still here....
