Default new guy with problem plz HELP

I have a 1992 mit. Montero sr 3.0L 4WD... Did oil change/ tune up / new fuel filter/ new pvc valve. The problem is it takes me from a cold start of anywhere from 6 or more hours sitting 3-6 tries to start Montero. But once I start the Montero and it gets started I can get in and out all day with a 1-3 try start with no problem. No I haven't tested fuel pump need special adapter. did a crude way of testing by turning key and trying to start it and I put a rubber hose on gas line and put my thump over hose to see if pressure stayed and it did. Now I turned the key to see if gas comes out when I just only turn the key but not trying to start it and no gas came out of hose... there's a test point for this action, so I tested it with current from battery and it came right out of the hose like it was suppose to do when u turn the ignition but not to start it. OK... NOW I need anyone who has had this problem and to plz give me some answers that could help me... i'am hoping maybe fuel pump relay/ fuses/ something maybe simply like that.... I know it may not be but that's how I feel it runs so great other than that to be sooo old. thanks

intermittent problem with contacts in the ignition barrel.
or. relay not actuating when in the crank/start position. either way, electrical, somewhere near the key.
