Im thinkin of doin a tranny swap. My 97 eclipse is an automatic.... i wanna convert it to stick. Iz it hard & wat do I need to add or change to do so?

 

It is not easy to do at all. The time and money you will spend is not worth it. If you want a 5sp then buy one. Doing the swap requires way too much

 

I know its not easy or cheap. Parts i can get hooked up with tahts no prob. (and no they're not stolen) I aint got the money to buy another eclipse thats why i want to do a tranny swap.I just want to know if I need any sensors or harnesses and all that good stuff

 

I dont believe you need any sensors or anything. Most of the stuff will bolt right in but the hardest thing (which it seems your good with) is getting all the parts to do the swap. Then youll have to do some cutting of the firewall and then get a new brake pedal as well. But i can see it costing you 1500 to do this depending on how cheap you get the labor and the parts.

 

Labor is no prob. My cusin is a mechanic and workin at pep boys helps cuz i know alot of mechanics. But thanks 4 da advice
