Default My turbo fills with boost too fast?

I drive a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse spyder gst automatc 4wd. When I bought the car about a month ago the boost was great, good on take off okay at higher speeds but now, it doesnt work so well. off the line take off is okay if I dont give it alot of gas but if I do, the boost shoots straight up and the car takes off with more motor(turbo feels like it wants to go but doesnt.) then the quick acceleration from the turbo. What im trying to say is when I give it more gas the turbo sucks! Possible problems?

Sorry, they didn't make the AWD Spyder. I hope you didn't get conned.

I see no problem described here. You ARE using premium fuel, right?

Oh well yeah it said Awd in the onwers manual but yeah I run premium gas only. Do you think it could be from too much or not enough oil? When I bought the car it had a valve cover leak so the guy just kept putting oil in when it got too low. When I check it (after starting the car and letting it run a little) the oil level is over where it should be on the dipstick but low on my oil gauge.

The oil gauge is oil pressure, not level. You should check your oil level with the car not running, and on even ground.

There is NO problem here.

Please take & post a picture of your engine bay so that I can confirm my suspicions.

Hey Sebba sorry I never got a pic of my engine bay but I found out why it feels so powerful then doesnt.
I bought a boost gauge then installed and it showed that my boost is peaking 20psi then drops down to about 10psi, any idea as to why it would do that?

YIKES. You need to control that boost spike, or else you could be hurting things.

Do you have a manual boost controller on the car? Make sure it never goes over 15psi, or else you're likely doing damage.
