Okay here is the scoop I am in Phoenix, AZ home of the 120 Degree heat. I just bought a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse gsx. I was thinking of changing the intercooler from a side mount to a front mount. Is it really worth it to do that? Are there other options beside and air to air intercooler? looking for something that is cost effective and that will last.

 

If you are running the stock turbo there is no point. Just remove the plastic crap that is all around your side mount to give it better flow...

 

A friend of mine was talking about an inercooler that uses water to cool down his setup. do you know anything about that?

 

You can get ones that spray cold water onto your front mount intercooler... me... i dont bother with that... i just get a big old fire extinguisher (co2) and spray the intercooler with it...... now thats SUPER cold

To let you know... you can actually lose power on the stock turbo with a front mount intercooler

 

And you can loose power with IC pipes bigger than stock
