Default turbo help please

hi im new to this forum, but a long time fan of mitsubishi. i have a 96 eclipse 2.0 non turbo, and so does my wife. im rebuilding the entire engine. i found a turbo manifold, that will take a t3 turbo. im balancing everything and using eagle beam rods and forged pistons. my question is how many lbs does a t3 put out?, i know its all in the external waste gate which is either a 35 or 38?? which is better? difference? where do i need my compression ratio to be before turbo charging? i always thought it was around 7.5:1. im trying to figure out how much dish i need on the pistons. i believe stock is 9.6:1 i could be wrong. i am switching out cams and larger valves, but i don't want to be blowing head gaskets every week either. any help and guidance is greatly appreciated. thank you.

youll probably find that either 8.0:1 or 8.5:1 CR is what youll find for pistons. Either is pretty good. And a turbo puts out what you set the boost to. It doesnt matter what turbo it is. Depending on your setup you may be able to boost around 15-20psi with the right setup and tuning. And what i would get if i were you is a t3/t4 hybrid. It will bolt up to your manifold and IMO will have the better compressor housing with the t4. I believe its what alot of 420a guys use. Now for the wastegate. The size specifies how much boost it will be able to hold without boost creep and will have a different spring. Withyour setup a 35mm will be fine. For the head gasket i reccomend going witha cosmetic gaskets and use a larger torque with the studs. I forget what torque to go with however. Check the faq's, i believe we have a write-up on it

You dont really have to do anything to it, as long as you dont boost a lot.. You can run 5-8lbs of boost without having to do anything to the motor... Just remember the more boost, the more stress your putting on the motor, and the less likely it will last a long time..

Check the 3g section, there are a few guys that have turboed there 3rd gen eclipse..
