my buddy was telling me that it would be a good idea to get a turbo timer. he said he had one on his rsx and if he ever got another car he would put it on again. but he wasnt able to explain to me the reason to have one or what it dose? (good or bad) is it really worth having one? they only run about what $100-$150.

 

I liked mine. If you got a 100 bucks, its a decent investment, just not a nessecity. It just enables your turbo to cool off, and idle while you can hop out and go inside, or whatever. It will automatticaly shut off when the timers done. My apexi is for sale. 100 bucks shipped. one month of use. Prolly still got te recipt.

 

on a stock turbo i wouldn't really bother with it. its more for ppl w/ aftermarket turbo's who want to ensure a long healthy life of it. basically it just keeps the car running at idle and gives the turbo time to cool off by recircing the cooler oil thorugh it. you can get them used for as little as 60-80 bucks but i bought a greddy auto timer (the auto timer function reads the engine and turbo temps and keeps the car running until it has reached optimal temp to shut down) and it was 110 bucks.
