Yeah honestly about the only thing from the evo x that appeals to me is the cruise control option due to a lot of highway miles (RS eclipse = no Cruise control) just a luxory i guess though. but to recap, 2005 evo 8 has everything the nine does right? and the mr is overpriced and overrated? so the SE is the better one to get i think? i just want to have the active center diff and all the other mechanical goodies as possible
mmk what models would be the best from 05 and 06? (the exterior parts such as head and tail lamps and the bumper can just be bolted on right? or is there some cutting to be done?) and which would you go for if money wasnt a big issue, the 05 or 06? aside from the bigger turbo of course (upgrade eventually)
The headlights, taillights, interior and front bumper are all bolt on swaps that alot of 2003-2005 Evo owners do.
As far as what models are best, it is up to you. I would take an SSL personally because the HIDs are nice and the sound system and sunroof are nice, but that car will be a tad slower because off all that extra weight. The RS is the fastest but has the least stuff (it has crank windows that is the killer to me) but if you want to make a track car the RS is the car to have. The MR is awsome but for the price and the junk tranny it is not really worth the time and money. All around the 2006 SE would be the best car IMO. it gets the HIDs, light alluminum roof and bilstien shocks from the MR but keeps the 5 speed tranny but that was only avail in mid 2006 so it WILL be more expensive to buy than almost any Evo 8-9
I would love to buy an SE if I had the money to waste. Other wise If I were to buy another Evo id juet get an 03 or 04. Then you have more $$ let over to mod it and you can even pay cash for it easier since it is alot cheaper
