Hello friends, I bought a 2002 eclipse spyder for my daughter graduating. It drove great for 6 months. No issues at all. She parked it like normal, when she tried to leave it wouldn't start. I raised my kids myself and thank God I know enough about cars to keep them running for the most part. Here's where I need help. It sounded like a typical starter click so I replaced it. Not the problem. Still doing same thing. I have run tests tried some things and still no luck. I wanted to turn the crank by hand (to see if it's locked up) but for the life of me can't remember if I take the belt off. Here's the biggest issue I noticed today. New battery in it now so I had her hit the key and I noticed that the negative battery cable at the post was smoking when she turned the key. So now I'm stuck, ground issue or what could be the problem. Ugh. Thanks folks.
