New mod to the supra......
Not a go fast mod. Recently my stock 93-96 style headlight were yellowing. Easy enough we took them apart and polished them and painted the chrome houseing black. Nice right? Well not really because they turned yellow again with in a few weeks and now the seal is not so good so the get condensation built up inside. Rather than dealing with these twice a year (average for these headlights). I decided to get in touch with the dealer and order the Euro spec 95 headlights which are identical with the exception they have a all glass housing vs plastic and they have electronic hieght adjustment (just like the Evo). Basically since they are glass I wont ever have to deal with pulling them apart for anything unless I get sick of the stock chrome look and want to paint them.
Here are some comparison pics
New one is on the left and old on the right
New on the right old on the left mounted to the car
Final look
Before anyone posts and askes why not buy the 97-98 style that came with the black houseing delined lenses with the three chrome rings I will explain. First and formost the 97+ style are still plastic and will require alot work like the stock ones I had. I would need to open them once or twice a year to polish them up, Second the chrome rings rust over time, third the low beam and fog light can cause the chrome and the black paint to bubble inside the houseing. And finally the cost. These Euro specs cost roughtly $530 from toyota (which I got them from toyota) and the 97-98s are rounghly $830 from toyota. The difference is not worth the amount of work required. Used the Euro spec sell for around $400 and the 97s around $600. But I couldnt find any used ones out there so here we are.
The pics dont even come close to showing how these things look. They are so clear and clean they look like diamonds or crystals.
Well worth the coin!!

The headlights oxidize after a bit, happens with plastic... easy way to fix it is by clicking this link and following instructions.

I doubt that will happen. They are like 20lbs each the glass is freaking thick. Not to mention I always drive far behind other cars because I dont want the rock chips on my paint.
I would be ready to kill someone if my new $500 lights get ruined. Good thing I only drive it like 2-3k a year
