think about what you just said... do you think that there is any car that has a mass appeal to every single person in the world?? every car with it's different options and different colors etc has their own buying market... think about it... this just adds another one

adding a turbo to a regular engine will actually increase the gas mileage as long as you are not in boost.
How do you figure that? A turbo that isn't spooling is just a restriction...

Who would have a turbo car, but not get into boooost...what would be the point.
you would instal the turbo and only run up to 3lbs of boost and with that you would get enough vacuum to suck more air in but not enough to have to pump more gas, and as we all know more air less gas = more power AND better fuel consumption rate...kinda like putting a CAI with a large vacuum pump on it if you will...

I'm just going to speculate that the atomization that occurs is next to negligible after traveling from the turbo, through IC's and several feet of plumbing...if that is really so important, why don't you put a Turbonator in your Del-Slo? Also, like he said, once you get into boost...all gains are lost. Just going up a small hill with the cruise set will cause my car to go into boost. If I want to stay out of boost, I have to have the acceleration of, I dunno, an 18 wheeler.

I didnt say it was important, the turbonator is a restriction on the intake. and.
just because an engine has a turbo (or obviously 2 in this case) doesn't mean that it used a whole bunch of Gas. adding a turbo to a regular engine will actually increase the gas mileage as long as you are not in boost.
I think they should just offer it as an option for a couple years and see how it goes. If anything they should fade out the V-8, not dis-continue it period.

i doubt ford will ever get rid of the V8 just because thats the ford name, but i think the V8 might become the option instead of the TT V6
