Default When shift?

Hey guys. I was just wandering. When you guys race, when do you guys shift? Do you guys go a little over redline or right before redline?

You want to shift probably around 200 rpm above peak horsepower and hopefully it will put you at peak torque when you are grabbing the next gear. This would be a good place to start.

somewhere between 5700-6200rpm for me. redline is 6400 in my car and it bounces off the limiter at about 6700
